Effort To Deliver 3,000 Acts of Kindness Starts in Plymouth
In a Plymouth warehouse, a nonprofit is working to bring hope and help to thousands of people in need.
The nonprofit Coated in Love is hosting its 3,000 Acts of Kindness event on Dec. 9 at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
During the event, they offer services such as dental work and haircuts, as well as warm clothes and shoes to the homeless population.
“This is what needs to be done,” said Danielle Igbanugo, the founder of 3,000 Acts of Kindness. “I mean, we can all look around us no matter where you are in this country and see there’s a need, there’s those that usually go unseen.”
The organization expects to help about 4,000 people this year. That’s up from about 3,000 last year.
“We are in need of brand-new winter coats for men and women, anywhere from small to XXXL, and brand-new boots,” Igbanugo said. “
Ahead of the event, they’re collecting donations at Knowledge Computers in Plymouth.
The shop is offering storage space in their warehouse for the event.
“We first-hand had the opportunity to see the impact it has on the community,” said David Potter, managing partner at Knowledge Computers. “It just, it makes such a difference for so many individuals. We had a bit of extra space. We really see this event as growing and in need of space … it’s part of our social responsibility, our fabric, one of our objectives and goals to work with the community.”
The company will also transport the donated goods from their warehouse to the event.
Donations can be dropped off at Knowledge Computers, at 5205 Hwy. 169 N., Ste. 200, Plymouth. Coated in Love also accepts financial donations here.
