Driver of Recycling Truck Hospitalized from Rollover Crash in New Hope
A Walters Recycling and Refuse truck ended up on its passenger side in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in New Hope.
Police and firefighters responded at around 10 a.m. to the scene at the intersection of 56th and Boone avenues north. There, the truck was on its side and the driver was talking to firefighters.
Once emergency crews put a ladder up to the driver’s side door of the cab, the driver was able to climb down on his own power. The driver then nearly collapsed with emotion as he was helped into a stretcher and taken away by ambulance to a local hospital for possible injuries.
It’s unclear what caused the truck to overturn. New Hope police say the Minnesota State Patrol will assist in the investigation.
