Donation Impact Doubled in CEAP’s 2024 Community Challenge
For the next month, your donations can double their impact at a Brooklyn Center food shelf.
Now through April 6, all food and money donations to the Community Emergency Assistance Programs (CEAP) in Brooklyn Center will be matched by Minnesota FoodShare.
That is for CEAP’s 2024 Community Challenge.
Associate Director of Advancement Katy Briggs said every dollar donated to CEAP will be more than doubled.
“Right now, the need is very, very high. CEAP is seeing the highest percentage of first-time visitors to our food market in our 52-year history,” Briggs said. “Need for Meals on Wheels continues to rise as well.”
CEAP’s goal with this campaign is to raise $150,000 and 150,000 pounds of food. There are dozens of drives and events happening throughout the area. Donation and volunteer information is available on the organization’s website.
There are benefits to both kinds of donations. Monetary donations help CEAP make specific choices, while food donations help address the need immediately and keeps costs down.
