As People Seek Outdoor Activities, Dehn’s Pumpkin Patch Prepares for Busy Season
Dehn’s Pumpkin Patch in Dayton is keeping the pumpkin season alive during the COVID-19 pandemic.
John Dehn said while there is no longer a corn pit, inflatable bouncers and school field trips, the farm is still busy.
“People want to be outside,” Dehn explained. “They’ve been stuck in their house for the past six months.”
Dehn called it a typical year.
CCX News caught up with some traditional pumpkin pickers, who say the outdoor activity brought a taste of normalcy in a year of uncertainty.
“There’s a lot of things you can’t do now and you never know when you’re going to be able to do it again,” said Kyle Esperum. “Nice to keep things normal.”
Dehn’s Pumpkin Patch opens through Oct. 31.
