Daphne Approved: Daphne checks out Plymouth Dog Park
Pet owners know how vital dog parks are to keeping your four legged companion happy and healthy. This summer will showcase some of the best local dog parks. This week we are highlighting the Plymouth Dog Park.
The Plymouth dog park has been around for 15 years. Its 21 acres in size with lots of play features including some agility courses.
“We have couple board walks here to get across the wet lands,” says Sonya Rippe with the city of Plymouth. “There is actually a small dog park a fenced in area that’s for dogs 20 pounds and under. Then if you go on the south board walk a little bit further there’s a bigger open area for dogs.”
The dog park is covered with astroturf so it does help keep your dog clean. However, there are still several places your dog can get muddy so owners should bring a towel to clean their dog afterwards. If you are someone who likes to walk or bike the Northwest Greenway, you’ll be happy to know the Plymouth dog park borders the trail.
The large dog park area has lots of spaces for your dog to run. However, it isn’t completely fenced in. So, if your dog isn’t the best off the leash, you might be better off taking them somewhere that’s gated. One of the best parts about the dog park is that there is no registration of your dog required. So, no matter where you are from your dog can come, run and have a great time.
The Plymouth dog park is located at 17005 county road 101 N. Plymouth, MN. For more information about dog parks in Plymouth click here.
