Crystal School Gives Thanks to Grandparents
Saint Raphael Catholic School in Crystal hosted its very first Grandparents’ Day. Having the event close to the Thanksgiving holiday was intentional.
“We decided to have our Grandparents’ Day right next to Thanksgiving because our grandparents were asking to come see the school and we thought how convenient it is that when we’re showing gratitude for families, food and our Lord, that we could also bring in families and grandparents into our school today,” said Joan Wieland, the school’s director of mission, events and communication.
The day was a blessing to grandparent Tom Houghtaling.
“I went through with it with my children and now to get to see it with my grandchildren is really gratifying,” Houghtaling said.
