Crystal Police Help Nab Three Juveniles, One Adult On Theft Spree
Three teens and one adult were arrested Wednesday in Crystal after a string of thefts ended in a car crash.
Law enforcement officials in St. Louis Park tipped off the Crystal Police Department about a group of people that were suspected of stealing from construction trailers.
Detectives tracked the alleged thieves to the Crystal Shopping Center. The suspects used stolen credit cards to buy merchandise at Game Stop and Target.
Officers from both agencies arrived and attempted to box-in the suspects — who were in a vehicle — in the parking lot.
However, the suspects drove their car up onto the curb in an effort to escape. According to Crystal Deputy Police Chief Brian Hubbard, a pedestrian had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit.
A Crystal officer then rammed their squad car into the suspect vehicle, disabling it.
The four suspects were arrested, and no one was injured during the incident.
According to Hubbard, the driver of the vehicle was 20-years-old, while the three passengers were 17-years-old.
