Crystal Homeowner Gets Into The Halloween Spirit
A Crystal homeowner really gets into the spirit of Halloween. On the corner of 41st and Jersey Avenue, you’ll find the fictional Brownwood Cemetery, which has been in existence for three years.
Brownwood Cemetery in the fictional Brownwood neighborhood, is haunted by skeletons, ghosts and other nocturnal, frightening creatures. The creepy cemetery really comes to life at night.
“We have animated, ghouls and like grim reapers,” said homeowner Brad Snyder, also known as cemetery groundskeeper. “It’s all lit up, different colored spotlights. We turn all the inside of my house green and we have the outside of my house orange.”
Ever since Snyder was a kid, he’s enjoyed celebrating the haunted holiday. He’s disappointed others don’t go all out, but he’s hoping to change that, by getting others into the spirit of the season, with his ornate display.
While, there are many scary things at the haunted house, he says little trick-or-treaters will get a scream out of the haunted display.
“Rarely do I have a kid that’s afraid to come up. They’re always just really curious and I think the lights help, said Snyder.
He’s hoping to give out a lot of fun frights and of course, candy.
“Hopefully, we have a lot of trick-or-treaters. Because I prefer to buy a lot and then hopefully give away a lot and then I don’t have any for me to eat,” Snyder laughs. “I love this, I love Halloween.”
