Crystal Celebrates Opening of New Dental Clinic
A community dental clinic opened its doors in Crystal in July. Leaders say the clinic, located inside the Crystal Medical Center on Bottineau Boulevard, will expand access for those who need it.
Community Dental Care, which has locations throughout the Twin Cities, is a nonprofit that serves patients who are uninsured and on Medicaid. The clinic name may be familiar, as this location was previously in Robbinsdale. This relocation offers more space for more staff and more patients.
“We are designed to serve a very diverse population of people that don’t really have easy access to care,” said Karen Kleinhans, the CEO of Community Dental Care.
The clinic opened in its location on July 1. Community Dental Care leaders, staff and elected officials gathered to cut the ribbon on Friday, July 26.
A number of officials who spoke highlighted the importance of dental access in the community.
The clinic offers emergency and routine services.
Kleinhans said this expanded clinic will allow it to see 7,000 more patients annually. That makes a significant dent in its lengthy waitlist.
There are other Community Dental Care locations in Maplewood, St. Paul, Rochester and Buffalo.
