Crystal-Based PuzzleTwist Returns for State Fair Tradition
There was a familiar local vendor at the Minnesota State Fair’s Merchandise Mart this week.
PuzzleTwist, a Crystal company founded by Tony and Candace Nelson, offer a unique take on puzzles.
The puzzles end up a little different than how they look on the box. Some designs are all mixed up, while others have a small twist. One new design was even created to be a mirror image of itself.
Since 2019, the Nelsons have shared new puzzles with fairgoers. This year’s bestseller is “Sky Glidin,” created by Golden Valley artist Adam Turman.
Tony Nelson said it’s a lot of fun to share their booth with visitors and customers both new and old.
“It is so much fun to hear about the people who love PuzzleTwist,” Nelson said. “They talk to us about the twists that they like, and they talk to us about family moments that have become special because they’ve been bonding over doing these puzzles.”
The puzzles are created hand-in-hand with local artists, many of whom help Nelson come up with the twists.
A number of the popular puzzles were created by Steve Barry, another local artist from Crystal.
