Crystal Approves New Townhome Development
A new townhouse-style development is on its way to the city of Crystal.
The Crystal City Council approved rezoning a plot for townhomes near the intersection of 36th Avenue and Douglas Drive on Sept. 3.
Creek Edge Townhomes LLC owns two lots at the intersection. The developer is combining them and constructing eight units of townhomes.
Rather than build a row-style townhome development, Creek Edge is building four separate twin homes.
The units will be two-stories, with approximately 1,900-square-feet per unit. Each unit will have three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a two-car garage. They’re being built slab-on-grade and will not have basements.
Initially, these homes will be available only as rentals. However, the developer may modify the plat for the property so that each unit could be sold as owner-occupied.
An existing vacant home on the property that was built in 1923 will be torn down before construction starts.
