Brooklyn Park Officer Wins Money for Crest View Elementary
Here’s an update on a story we brought you back in July. We told you about Brooklyn Park Police Officer Jennifer Foster’s quest to win some money for Crest View Elementary. The D.A.R.E. officer entered a contest run by Aftermath. They are a company that works with police departments to clean up crime scenes. The company pledged $15,000 to be split among the contest’s winners.
Foster submitted a video to enter, and won 5th place. That earned Crest View $1,000. Foster says the choice of who to give the money to, was easy. “I have a soft spot for this school,” she says. “It’s a great school. Staff is amazing. And I just wanted them to have a little extra money to be able to do events, or whatever they needed for the kids.”
The school says it might use the money to resolve lunch debt for kids, or to pay for transportation for an upcoming field trip.
