County Road 47 Options in Plymouth include Trails
The city of Plymouth and Hennepin County have been studying the future of the County Road 47 corridor. Once the study is finalized, the study will shape future improvements to the corridor when funding becomes available.
As the city has grown, volume has increased on the roadway. The city hosted open houses to gather resident feedback for what happens next.
“On both options, there’s a trail on both sides of the rebuilt road,” said Michael Thompson, Plymouth public works director. “That’s something we heard a lot about. There’s no place to walk. We want space to move around and get to parks.”
Residents have expressed concerns about a lack of turn lanes, people driving too fast, and a lack of pedestrian access.
