Contractors Busy After Hail Damages Brooklyn Park, Maple Grove Homes
Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove were in the bull’s eye Monday. Golf ball-sized hail pinged and pelted those cities, causing extensive damage to houses.
One sure sign of storm damage in an area are roofing, siding and window company signs in yards. In parts of Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove they are now everywhere.
For Midwest Exteriors Plus of Maple Grove, hail is good for business.

“Right now at the office we’re getting anywhere between 15 and 20 calls an hour,” said Midwest’s Greg Gerulis.
It’s all hands on deck for Midwest Exteriors Plus. The company dispatched every crew to begin the process of storm repair from Hail Damages.
“It’s go time,” Gerulis said. “This one will go a minimum right up to winter.”
Costly Toll
In parts of Maple Grove and Brooklyn Park the powerful storm took a costly toll in certain residential areas.
“This one is significant,” Gerulis said.
The hail, rain and wind wreaked havoc on Dan Kelly’s house in Maple Grove.
“Windows, window screens, siding and roofing all seems to have sustained pretty significant hail damage,” Kelly said.
If your house has damage, be careful of storm chasers and scam artists.
“We’ve got a lot of the storm chasers that come into town for these,” Gerulis said. “Make sure the companies are licensed, bonded and insured and a member of the Better Business Bureau.”
“Everybody’s just watching the radar and is going to descend upon your neighborhood,” Kelly said, “if you happen to be unfortunate enough to get hit.”
