Consider Donating Blood During National Volunteer Month
April is National Volunteer Month and Red Cross is celebrating by thanking and giving out five $1,000 e-gift cards.
Everyone who donates blood before April 30 will automatically be entered into a drawing to win one of those gift cards. This week, Red Cross held a blood drive at Pilgrim United Methodist Church in Plymouth.

Sue Thesenga, with the American Red Cross said the need for blood is constant.
“Only 3% of US population donates blood, that’s staggering. We need to change that statistic,” said Thesenga. “It’s a great time to remind people of blood donations and volunteer blood donors are.”
Blood with high levels of antibodies, may be used to meet potential future needs of COVID-19 patients. To make an appointment, you can learn more on the American Red Cross website, or call 1-800-RED CROSS for current blood donation centers days and hours.
