City Hall Burglars Hit Brooklyn Park
Brooklyn Park police are looking for a pair of City Hall burglars. Two men broke into City Hall and stole money from an ATM. Surveillance video from Sunday, September 29 when the building was closed shows one man scoping out the place through a glass door. He then gets another man and the two use a sledgehammer to break into the ATM, located near the front entrance. While the City Hall burglars stole money from the ATM, nothing else was taken. Police are calling this a bold move, especially since it happened around noon in broad daylight.
Deputy Chief Mark Bruley says they might not have been as visible as they would normally have been because City Hall is being remodeled. Construction equipment blocks some views of the building.
“They broke into City Hall and went directly to the cash machine,” explained Bruley. “They broke into the ATM machine and did recover, or received an undisclosed amount of cash.” Brooklyn Park Police are taking extra precautions to secure the building during construction.
Bruley says the police have no suspects yet. They hope someone will recognize the men on the surveillance videos. If you do, they ask that you call police to help them catch the burglars.
