Charges: Teen Fired Gunshots at New Hope Gas Station
A New Hope teen is facing criminal charges after allegedly firing a handgun at a New Hope gas station.
Jeromeo Beavers, 18, has been charged with second-degree assault, possession of a machine gun, and receiving stolen property. All three are felonies.
According to the criminal complaint, police were dispatched to the Speedway station on Tuesday, July 16 on a report of shots fired.
Witnesses say Beavers had been at the gas station asking individuals for cigarettes.
He then got into an argument, left the scene, and returned with a handgun.
Witnesses reported Beavers firing one gunshot, but investigators found two spent shell casing at the crime scene.
Beavers then fled to his apartment across the street.
Officers arrested him without incident.
In an interview with police, Beavers said he “felt disrespected” before firing the handgun.
Investigators searched his apartment and found a Glock handgun, ammunition and an auto-sear.
Beavers was booked in the Hennepin County Jail and remains in police custody.
