Charges: Non-student Entered Cooper High School with Hammer, Knife
A teenager is facing felony charges after bringing a hammer and a knife to a New Hope school.
Nathaniel Zeon, 18, has been charged with possession of dangerous weapons on school property.
According to the criminal complaint, the New Hope Police Department responded to a call from Robbinsdale Cooper High School on Tuesday, April 16. School officials called police to report that a trespasser on school grounds may have a machete.
Security cameras showed Zeon, who was not a student at Cooper, enter the school wearing a mask and a backpack.
Police found a machete-type knife and a hammer inside Zeon’s backpack.
He was arrested and booked into the Hennepin County Jail later that day.
Zeon has since posted his $10,000 bail and been released from police custody.
He has a court appearance scheduled for June 7.
The criminal complaint lists Zeon as a resident of Minneapolis, but other court documents say he lives in Anoka.
