Catalytic Converters Stolen From Brooklyn Park Auto Shops
A Brooklyn Park automotive shop is facing a major loss after a man broke into cars and stole expensive auto parts.
The incident happened last Sunday at around 7 p.m. The owner of Dukuly’s Auto Repair says someone stole three catalytic converters from cars parked outside the shop. The device is used to reduce emissions and contains copper.
Police are checking out surveillance video to see if they can identify the man.
“We do have a gentleman parking his car within our camera view and removing tools from his car and going back and forth, obviously putting something in the back of his car, it appears the back of the window, the back window was busted out, so he could reach in really easy,” explained Traci Dukuly, owner of Dukuly’s Auto Repair.
Dukuly says a catalytic converter was also stolen from another nearby business, Morrie’s Collision. If you have any information give Brooklyn Park police a call.
