Brooklyn Park’s Heavy Rotation Brewing Celebrates Its First Anniversary
The craft beer industry continues to be a competitive one, where only the strong survive.
Heavy Rotation Brewing is celebrating its first anniversary this weekend, and it is the only brewery in Brooklyn Park.
“Going through old photos, (and I) can’t believe it’s already been a year,” said co-owner Ken Smith. “Someone commented it feels like you’ve been there forever with all of the stuff that you do, (like) Wednesday meat raffle.”
Smith says the meat raffle is one of the most popular events that the brewery hosts. Heavy Rotation started out only being only a few days a week, and now it is open seven days a week with an event featured almost every day.
“It’s better than anything we could’ve imagined, to be honest,” said Smith. “We hope to be here for the long term and if year 1 is any indication, we’re not going anywhere.”
The brewery is planning a whole weekend of events that range from yoga to a meat raffle, all in conjunction with a new beer release.
