Brooklyn Park Woman Leads Minneapolis Farmers Market
A Brooklyn Park woman is leading the charge for this year’s Minneapolis Farmers Market.
It’s Ashley Nathe’s second year executive directing the 135 stalls in the market downtown. She grew up with the market, so running the space is almost second nature.
This year, the market is taking SNAP-EBT Tokens. The Market Bucks program gives those with an EBT card $10 to spend at the market on top of $10 spent in tokens. More details about SNAP-EBT and Market Bucks are available on the Minneapolis Farmers Market website. The EBT booth is open 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
There is also an ATM on site.
Nathe said those who qualify can get a good value and stretch their dollar with market bucks.
One of Nathe’s changes this year is reducing the market’s hours. It’s open 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 6 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Nathe said the five-day schedule, with its shorter hours, will better serve the market’s customers and vendors.
