Brooklyn Park VFW to Honor Heroes at Fall Freedom Festival
The Palmer Lake VFW in Brooklyn Park will host its annual Fall Freedom Festival this coming Saturday.
The event starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. All ages are welcome. There will be live music by City Nights, face painting and raffles.
The event always takes place around 9/11 in the fall. Bar manager Holly Irvin said this event is a special way to honor those who served, even 23 years later.
“When a tragedy happens, communities and people in America kind of got together,” Irvin said. “That’s what this place is about, supporting each other as Americans, veterans. Thanking the veterans that went overseas to fight for our country in any kind of war.”
Irvin said this event is also an opportunity to educate people about the VFW and its charitable mission.
A flyer about the event is available in the VFW’s Facebook group.
