Brooklyn Park Troop Celebrates 100th Eagle Scout
A Brooklyn Park-based boy scout troop celebrated a unique honor this week. Daniel McHenry became the 100th scout from Brooklyn Park-based Troop 542 to attain the highest achievement offered through Scouts BSA. The troop held a court of honor for McHenry and several Eagle Scouts from Troop 542 attended.
“If a person really puts their work into it, it can be easy if they know what they are doing,” said Daniel McHenry, the new Eagle Scout.
“It does take a lot of dedication, because there’s a lot of service hours involved and a lot of leadership they have to demonstrate,” said Kirsten Bovy, the scoutmaster for Troop 542.
The troop meets most Mondays at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. The event also commemorated the Troop’s 54th Anniversary.
