Brooklyn Park Toy Drive Celebrates 40 Years of Holiday Cheer
A holiday tradition that’s brought smiles to thousands of children is celebrating 40 years this year.
For Jerry Moscowitz, what started out as a simple toy drive among friends and family has mushroomed into a community-wide holiday event.

For 40 years, Jerry Moscowitz and his family have hosted a holiday toy drive.
Neighbors drop off sports equipment, dolls, scooters, and other toys at his Brooklyn Park home.
A representative from Toys for Tots later comes to pick up all the gifts during a party.
Moscowitz estimates over the past four decades, they’ve donated 15,000 toys.
“The parents that go through this struggle of having to make tough decisions at this time and knowing that we’re helping them takes some of that away even if it’s just for a little bit,” said Moscowitz. “We’re helping give toys and bring in smiles to their face.”
Moscowitz will be collecting toys on Saturday, December 13 from 1-9 p.m.
His address is 9255 Telford Bay, Brooklyn Park.
He says while all donations are appreciated, there is a specific need for gifts for teens.
Moscowitz says when his wife and him are ready to pass on the tradition, his daughter will take the helm.
