Brooklyn Park Swears In New Group of Diverse Police Recruits
The Brooklyn Park Police Department celebrated the city’s newest group of police recruits on Thursday.
The city swore in 10 new officers.
For new recruits like Margaret Helbig, this ceremony is the result of months of hard work. Helbig told CCX News she’s grateful to work in Brooklyn Park.
“Brooklyn Park reminds me so much of Oak Park [Illinois] where I grew up. Just the city in general. It means a lot to be able to serve a community that reminds me so much of home,” said Helbig.
Helbig is part of a diverse group, featuring women and persons of color, matching the diversity of the city they will serve.
