UPDATE: Brooklyn Park Police Search for Suspect That Ran From High School
Brooklyn Park police say they’re searching for a boy who ran from Park Center Senior High School during an investigation on Wednesday morning.
A police spokesperson says school resource officers were investigating a rumor that a male student had brought a gun to the school.
Around 10:45 a.m., the boy ran from officers on foot, and ultimately left the school.
Following the incident, Park Center went into a security protocol, locking all exterior doors.
Officers searched for the boy with a drone and K9, but did not find him.
“Further investigation was unable to substantiate the presence of a gun in the school,” the spokesperson said. “The case is still open and no further information will be released at this time.”
No one was hurt during the incident.
The police department says it will maintain a presence with school resource officers at Park Center.
