Brooklyn Park, Plymouth Companies Receive Job Creation Grants
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) approved grants totaling more than $1.7 million for five Minnesota businesses, including one in Brooklyn Park and one in Plymouth.
The DEED Job Creation Fund awarded $675,000 to Cantel Medical in Plymouth. The funds will be put toward a $4.5 million expansion at the company’s Plymouth facility. That includes adding a 20,000-square-foot innovation and training center and a 7,500-square-foot research and development testing center. Cantel Medical expects to create 101 jobs within three years with an average wage of $28.21 an hour.
The Job Creation Fund also awarded NAPCO International with $110,000 to expand its Brooklyn Park business. The company manufacturers parts for U.S. military vehicles. NAPCO recently relocated to Brooklyn Park from Hopkins. It expects to create 18 jobs within three years at an average wage of $24.36 an hour.
