Brooklyn Park Laundromat is Open, Workers are “Cleaning Nonstop”
Laundering clothes and linen is particularly important when you’re trying to minimize the risk of getting sick. Brooklyn Park Laundries, a public laundromat with three locations in Brooklyn Park, has implemented new rules to ensure safety for customers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re asking people to put their clothes in the wash and sit in the car and wait and then come back and put it in the drier. Then go home to fold them up,” explained Leeann Geurts, owner of Brooklyn Park Laundries.
Geurts added that there are carts at each building specifically to put dirty clothes in and carts for clean clothes. She said this will hopefully separate anything from being contaminated.
“I got signs up that say to come in you need to wear a mask. A lot of them will have their gloves. If they don’t, I can furnish gloves for them. I don’t have enough masks though,” Geurts said.
Geurts told CCX News they’re bleaching their water more and they’re cleaning facilities nonstop. Geurts encourages people who are doing laundry to also do their part to ensure cleanliness.
“A lot of them are good, they bring their own hand sanitizer, although I furnish some. They’re wiping down and they’re picking up, they’re doing really well,” Geurts said.
