Brooklyn Park Gets Feedback on Snow Emergency Policy
Brooklyn Park is getting mixed feedback on its new snow emergency policy.
After the first winter when Brooklyn Park declared snow emergencies, the city towed nearly 700 vehicles. Previously the city ticketed vehicles, but did not tow them.
Emergencies were declared when two or more inches of snow fell. You are not allowed to park on city streets until they are plowed curb to curb. Some residents were upset their vehicles were towed, but others nearby weren’t. The new policy was put in place for public safety reasons.
