Brooklyn Park Entrepreneur Makes Jewelry at State Fair
For the eighth year, Lisa Nelson will showcase her one-of-a-kind jewelry near the Grandstand at the State Fair. Nelson is from Brooklyn Park and says she likes to help people tell their story through jewelry.
“Our tagline is tell your story,” explains Nelson. “That’s all about telling something that’s important to you and close to your heart.”
Nelson uses glass and stones to craft earrings, bracelets and all sorts of jewelry pieces. She makes many Minnesota-themed items and she can also take requests.
“We’re looking at sterling silver, copper and gold-filled metals. They start on flat sheets,” says Nelson. “Then, we’ll cut them to the size and shape a person wants.”
Personalized items that feature the names of pets or grandchildren are big sellers. Wedding and memorial tributes are too.
Nelson’s booth is located in the lower level of the Grandstand. Fair-goers look for her booth.
“I love her work,” said customer Diane Kohler. “I always look for her booth at the Fair. It’s well worth the money.”

If Nelson looks familiar, she graced CCX Media’s airwaves earlier this summer. She runs the Yummy Tummy food truck in Brooklyn Park.
