Brooklyn Park City Council Member is Blue-Ribbon Baker
Long before Lisa Jacobson sat on the Brooklyn Park City Council, she entered Minnesota State Fair baking contests. She was encouraged to enter by her one-time Robbinsdale neighbor, Marjorie Johnson.
“It’s fun to do a few things each year and then rushing to the Fair on the first day to see how you do,” said Jacobson.
Jacobson has been entering items in the Bee and Honey category since the mid-90s. This year, she’s entering six entries that range from honey French dressing to a honey snack mix. She says you must be precise because judges are very picky.
“You can also turn in your recipe and they will call you out if they don’t believe what you’ve written down is what you’ve actually produced for them,” said Jacobson.
