Brooklyn Park Church Gives Away 4,000 Cases of Ice Cream Bars
Grace Fellowship Church in Brooklyn Park gave away 4,000 cases of ice cream bars on Wednesday evening. The point of the giveaway was “to show love.” Anyone could take a case to help brighten someone’s mood.
“We are so excited today,” said Pastor Tim Bastron from Grace Fellowship Church. “We talk at Grace about living and loving our city, so we thought we’d love on our city with ice cream.”
Each case contained 36 Halo ice cream bars. That’s a total of 144,000 bars given away.
The church partnered with Champlin police, Brooklyn Park police, Ruby’s Pantry and the Twin Cities Church Calendar to hand out the ice cream treats. More than 50 volunteers came to help.
Cars would swing in from Winnetka Avenue and take as many cases as they wanted.
Next Tuesday and Thursday, Grace Fellowship will be giving away 20-pound boxes of food from 4-7 p.m. To find more information on how to participate, click here.
