Brooklyn Park Church Concerned with Trash Dumping
Pastor Jeff Gagnon from Revive Brooklyn Park Church says people dump trash on the church’s property multiple times a year. This past weekend someone dumped part of a deck and an 8 ft. Jacuzzi.
“I would say three, four times a year, maybe more,” says Gagnon. “People dump anything from furniture, couches, refrigerators, and stoves. This past weekend, it was the worst I’ve ever seen. It was actually somebody’s deck cut out. It was 10 x 10 or 10 x 12, cut out and probably an 8 ft. jacuzzi with it. They just dumped it on the property.”
Gagnon believes that last dumping actually came from someone who had access to a dump truck. The vehicle was large enough to leave deep ruts in the grass.
Revive Brooklyn Park Church also sees large piles of trash in their dumpsters almost weekly. It costs the church anywhere from $500-$1000 to get rid of the garbage.
“We’re a Christian church and we have faith. We believe in God and we fear God,” explained Gagnon. “It amazes me that people would have the guts to do something like that in a church property.”
Gagnon says police have been notified about the problem.
