Brooklyn Middle School Awarded $10K Grant For New Breakfast Program
Brooklyn Middle School in Brooklyn Park was awarded $10,000 this month to support a new grab-and-go breakfast program.
The breakfast program will be implemented when students are back in the hybrid or full-time in-person leaning models.
There will be breakfast carts featured at different locations throughout the school, to make breakfast more convenient and accessible to students. The goal is to gain participation and fuel more students properly for a successful day of learning.
The grant came from community partners including Fuel Up to Play 60, Midwest Dairy and the Minnesota Vikings.
“Statistics have showed that those of you who eat breakfast and are very active, you make better students,” said Greg Coleman, former Minnesota Vikings punter.
Fuel Up to Play 60 and the NFL’s Hometown Grant program have been helping deserving schools meet their health and wellness goals for seven years now.
