Brooklyn Center’s CEAP Looks for Food Shelf Volunteers
The Community Emergency Assistance Programs, or CEAP. in Brooklyn Center, is in need. Although donations of money, food, and other items are always welcome, this time the need is more labor intensive.
“We are in need of volunteers, especially in the mornings Monday through Friday. We need a total of eight volunteers on a given day. Especially folks that are willing to put on their coats and distribute our groceries to our participants outside,” said Jack Elsnes, community outreach manager for CEAP.
In addition to rolling the food carts out to the cars, volunteers will also do some work indoors. Tasks like sorting the groceries and packing the boxes that are delivered out to the cars on the drive through pick up is all work needing to be done each day.
The shift in the morning is from 8:30 to noon. Afternoon shifts are from noon to 3:30. If you can lend a hand contact CEAP. CEAP is located at 7051 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota 55429. Call (763) 566-9600 for more information.
