UPDATE: Brooklyn Center Approves City Plastic Tableware Ban
NOTE: This story was updated to include Monday’s vote.
The Brooklyn Center City Council voted Monday for a resolution to lower the city’s impact on the environment. Under the resolution, Brooklyn Center would no longer use city funds to buy disposable items like plastic and Styrofoam plates, cups, and utensils for city buildings.
The measure passed unanimously in the consent agenda or items expected to require little discussion. The city measure will take effect next week.
