Brooklyn Center Residents Can Sign Up for CodeRED Alerts
Brooklyn Center residents can now get all their emergency notifications from one spot. The city joined other municipalities in using CodeRED.
The emergency notification tool informs and continuously updates residents on events like gas leaks and water main breaks. Residents can choose which kind of notifications to receive. Users can get reports in a variety of ways including voice, text, email and mobile app.
“We need to build our database, so we want people to go in and sign up for it,” said Brooklyn Center Fire Chief Todd Berg. “Encourage your neighbors and family and friends to sign up for it. It will alert you to anything emergency wise in Brooklyn Center.”
Other cities participating cities in the CodeRED emergency alert system include Maple Grove and Golden Valley.
