Brooklyn Center Receives Plan for Brewery and Dog Park Concept
A new business that’s part brewery, part dog park is in the works in Brooklyn Center.
The city council got a look at the initial plans for a business called Morty’s Bark and Brew earlier this month. This was presented to the council in a dog pun-filled concept review of the business.
The business owner, Air Gustafson, envisions a 5,000-square-foot indoor space with a brewery and drink tasting room with a limited food menu. It would also have an off-leash outdoor and indoor space for dogs to play.
This proposal is located at the corner of 57th and Logan near Highway 100.
The council asked some questions about liability, to which Gustafson said dog owners will participate in an orientation before they can bring their pets to the space. Reception of the idea was overall positive. At the end of the presentation, mayor April Graves thanked Gustafson for her idea.
“I knew the council would like the idea as soon as I heard about it,” Graves said.
“Thank you, thank you for your support,” Gustafson responded.
Concept art of the property is available in PDF form. The meeting is also viewable on Cablecast with Bark and Brew discussion beginning at 1 hour and 30 minutes.
