Brooklyn Center Police Warn of Car Break-Ins
Brooklyn Center police are warning people to lock their cars after a string of break-ins. At least seven cars were tampered with in Brooklyn Center and a variety of items stolen. Most of the break-ins happened just south of I-694, west of Xerxes Avenue.
Brooklyn Center police say this was a crime of opportunity because all the vehicles were unlocked.
“Please lock your vehicles. Don’t leave any valuables in your car including electronics: iPhones, iPads, things of that nature. And just lock your cars,” said Commander Tony Gruenig. “It’s really difficult for us to prevent a crime when the vehicles are unlocked.”
There’s no dollar amount on how much property was stolen, and none of the stolen items have been found. Police also say they have no suspects.
