Brooklyn Center Police Warn Not to Leave Cars Running Unattended
Brooklyn Center police say they typically see a spike in auto thefts this time of year. That’s because people leave their vehicles running with the keys left inside.
In fact, police say they’ve had a couple of vehicles reported stolen this week because of people leaving their car running with keys in the ignition. It’s against the law to do this.
Brooklyn Center has a “open ignition” ordinance that prohibits vehicles left running while unattended. You can learn more about the ordinance on Brooklyn Center’s website.
