Brooklyn Center Police Report Spike in Car Thefts

Police say auto thefts in Brooklyn Center spiked 30 percent last year. Nearly half of the thefts resulted from people leaving their car running unattended. Brooklyn Center police say it’s actually against the law to do that and they recommend using a remote starter instead of leaving the car running with the keys in the ignition.
