Brooklyn Center Police Arrest Felon Who Tried To Take Gun From Officer
Brooklyn Center police have arrested a wanted felon who allegedly tried to take an officer’s gun.
According to police, the incident occurred in the 7400 block of Noble Avenue, in front of Brooklyn Middle School.
Just after 9 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a report of a “car prowler” in the area.
When officers located the suspect and tried to make an arrest, the suspect pulled away. During the following struggle, he tried to take an officer’s firearm.
Police arrested the man and later found he was wanted on a felony warrant for fleeing police.
Brooklyn Center officers sustained minor injuries in the scuffle.
The department credited an off-duty Minneapolis police officer for stopping and providing “critical assistance.”
