Brooklyn Center Nonprofit To Host Aug. 30 Car Show for a Cause
NextGen Legacy Foundation, a Brooklyn Center nonprofit, is hosting its car show fundraiser for the community on Saturday, Aug. 30.
The event, located in the Brooklyn Center Little League parking lot at 6030 Vincent Ave. N., is free to attend.
Activities run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. NextGen Legacy founder KB Balla said the event will include a barbecue, raffle, bounce houses, games and raffles.
Aside from that, at least 15 classic cars will be on display.
Balla said this event is raising funds to renovate the neighboring church’s gym, which hasn’t been used in ten years. He wants to make the gym usable and become a positive, safe gathering place for young people.
“Meet the kids where they are, you know? They love sports,” Balla said. “We want to have a safe place where we can bring them, play the game and also talk to them about financial literacy, talk to them about entrepreneurship.”
Balla said the car show is still accepting entries. People can even sign up at the entrance. It costs $20 to be a part of the show.
You can sign up to display your car and learn more about the fundraiser on its Eventbrite page.
