Brooklyn Center Liquor Receives Two Awards
Brooklyn Center Liquor has something to celebrate. The city’s two municipal-run liquor stores were recently recognized with two awards.
The Minnesota Municipal Beverage Association awarded Brooklyn Center Liquor a Best Business Development award for its new customer rewards program.
Brooklyn Center Liquor also took home a national award from Beverage Dynamics, the largest national trade magazine for alcohol retailers. The city-run stores were among the winners of the inaugural Top 100 Retailers Awards.
“This was for overall, it wasn’t for one specific program,” said Tom Agnes, manager of Brooklyn Center Liquor. “It was for our BC Bucks Rewards, it was for our rare beer releases, different events that we do like Red, White and Brew. Things like that.”
Brooklyn Center opened its first municipal liquor store in December of 1949. Next year the Xerxes Avenue store will be moving to a new location at 1350 Shingle Creek Crossing, about two blocks away.
