Brooklyn Center Home Sustains Significant Damage After Overnight Storms
The outside of one Brooklyn Center home only tells half the story. Inside, is a shocking scene.
The woman who lives there was sleeping late Tuesday night when her bedroom ceiling collapsed. Buried under debris, she miraculously got up without a scratch. Her husband was out of town at the time.
A tree snapped in half and fell on the roof of the home – the living room ceiling also caving in – scattering wood and drywall all over.
Xcel Energy reported more than 37,000 customers in the state without power Wednesday with most of the outages on the west side of the metro.
Except for the Brooklyn Center home, the northwest suburbs didn’t see too much significant damage.
Homeowners of the damaged house will now have insurance among other things to figure out.
Their house may have seen the worst of the storm in Brooklyn Center overnight, but they say they can’t help but wonder if guardian angels were looking out.
