Brooklyn Center COVID-19 Clinic Offers Vaccines for Infants, Preschoolers
A Pediatric Vaccine Clinic was Held at the Brookdale Library in Brooklyn Center Thursday
Hennepin County is now offering COVID-19 vaccines for people six months and older.
Even before the clinic opened, people were lined up to get their children vaccinated. One parent drove from White Bear Lake to this location because Hennepin County is one of a few clinics offering the Moderna vaccine for children six months to five years. Some parents say they are glad to be able to get their kids vaccinated finally.
Some Parents Say The Vaccines Are A Pathway To Normalcy
“It’s important to provide as much protection for her as possible. The vaccine is safe and effective, and hopefully, this means we can get back to normal life sooner,” said parent Matt Aliota.
The vaccines are free, and both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are available. Hennepin County officials say the Brooklyn Center location is ideal because it’s accessible by bus.
“We want everyone protected. We want everyone to get the vaccine who wants the vaccine. We are offering vaccines here for all ages,” said Allison Thrash, Hennepin County Public Health Spokesperson.
The Brookdale location will offer vaccines on Thursdays through August 25th. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are ok.
