Broadway Star Visits Maple Grove Senior High
A member of the Broadway show “Tuck Everlasting” visited with students from Maple Grove Senior High’s fall musical production team.
“On Saturday, it was honestly one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had,” said student actor Matthew Lee. “Meeting Andrew Keenan Bolger was such an honor. To be able to work with him on top of that was even greater. And the knowledge I learned from this experience with the show was incredible.”
Lee is one of many students who will be involved in Maple Grove Senior High’s production of “Tuck Everlasting.” The cast and crew got a visit from the actor who played Jesse Tuck in the original Broadway cast.
“I think the cast as a whole will probably take away inspiration first and foremost,” says Evan Blesener, another student actor. “Then, also a sense of really putting our all into a show.”
The Maple Grove Musical Theatre Boosters funded the experience for the students.
“That’s part of what our mission is here,” explains Amy Cerepak, with the MGSH Theatre Boosters. “How can we enhance the program? What experiences can we provide to the students, whether it’s additional equipment or additional resources?”
Students enjoyed the experience with one saying it’s one of the coolest experiences they’ve had in the program.
