Bottineau Railroad Crossings in Brooklyn Park to Open in August
Brooklyn Park drivers may soon be able to get across a busy stretch highway that’s been closed due to construction.
Hennepin County representatives said they expect two railroad crossings along Bottineau Boulevard — located at 73rd Avenue N. and Brooklyn Boulevard — to reopen by early August.
Work on the railroad crossing wrapped up earlier this month.
The county said the crossings will reopen once BNSF railroad crews finish inspecting the crossing.
Until then, drivers are asked to continue following detours.
Hennepin County’s website advises people driving on Brooklyn Boulevard, or trying to head westbound from Bottineau Boulevard, to use this detour:
- Bottineau Boulevard
- 85th Avenue N.
- Highway 169
- Brooklyn Boulevard
Those attempting to head to 73rd avenue should use this detour:
- Bottineau Boulevard
- West Broadway
- 68th Avenue N.
- Winnetka Avenue N.
