Bookings Up at Major Event Centers like Brooklyn Park’s Marriott Northwest
A Brooklyn Park hotel and event center says they’re seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
This week, event centers can operate at 50% capacity with no more than 250 people. Minneapolis Marriott Northwest in Brooklyn Park says it’s already seeing more bookings for events.
“The industry as whole has been taken down pretty rough from pandemic,” said Blake Sieloff, the general manager. “We’re getting to the point where we’re seeing light at end of tunnel. We have newly renovated 63,000 sq. feet meeting space that we can execute these events in. We’re prepared to do that so everyone’s excited. We’re getting reengaged with clients, so we’re ready for the next steps.”
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, next month seated indoor events can have up to 3,000 people while non-seated venues can have up to 1,500. Social distancing and masking restrictions still apply.
