Boil Water Alert Issued for Golden Valley Neighborhood
Potential contamination in a portion of Golden Valley’s water supply means that some homeowners need to boil their water.
City officials discovered bacteria in water testing samples on Wednesday.
Experts believe it was caused by a loss of pressure in the water system.
The impacted neighborhood is near the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Westbend Road.
According to a Golden Valley city spokesperson, fewer than 45 properties were impacted by the potential contamination. They characterized the issue as “almost solved.”
Residents living in the area should boil their tap water before using it for cooking, brushing their teeth or drinking.
Contaminated water can have bacteria that causes nausea, cramps, diarrhea or headaches.
